Pests We Treat in Upper & Lower Matecumbe
Mosquitoes. Salt-marsh mosquitoes blow in and bite through the day; Aedes breed in planters and bromeliads at the house; no-see-ums come off the mangroves at dawn and dusk. Fogging and barrier treatments knock down what's resting in your landscaping, typically holding three to four weeks. Inspections are free.
Roof rats. Seawalls, mangroves, dock lines and palm skirts give them cover and a route to the roof. Noise at night and hollowed-out fruit are the signs. We trap and remove, then seal entry points smaller than a fist.
Ghost ants. The tiny, nearly clear ants on the kitchen counter. Gel baits the colony carries home, plus a perimeter treatment; never a spray, which splits the colony.
American roaches (palmetto bugs). They live in the landscaping and under docks and come in after rain. Perimeter treatment, entry points sealed. They can live indoors with the proper water source.
Silverfish. Rentals and second homes that sit closed up are humid silverfish habitat. We treat the harborage areas and recommend keeping the A/C running when the place is empty.
Wasps. Nests under eaves, in palms, on boats and around docks. We remove and treat them safely.

Can you get rid of the no-see-ums on my dock? We can cut them down around the property with barrier treatments on the landscaping where they rest, but no-see-ums breed in the mangroves and keep moving in, so screens finer than standard mesh and a fan on the dock are part of the answer. We'll be honest about what treatment can and can't do.
