Roof rats. On a canal, roof rats have everything — cover in the seawall rocks and mangroves, a highway up the dock lines and palm trunks, and fruit trees in the yard. Noise in the ceiling at night and hollowed-out fruit are the first signs. We trap and remove, then seal entry points smaller than a fist.

Ghost ants. The tiny, almost clear ants trailing to anything sweet on the counter. They nest in wall voids, behind cabinets and in potted plants, and spraying splits the colony. We use gel baits the workers carry back, plus a perimeter treatment to stop re-entry.

Mosquitoes. The black salt-marsh mosquito is the most common mosquito in the Keys and blows in from the Everglades and offshore islands; Aedes breed in buckets, planters and bromeliads right at the house. Our fogging and barrier treatments knock down what's resting in your yard and landscaping, with results that typically hold three to four weeks. Inspections are free.

American roaches (palmetto bugs). They live in the landscaping, under dock boards and in hollow palms and come inside after rain. We treat the perimeter and entry points and seal ground-level gaps.

Silverfish. Vacation rentals that sit closed up between guests are the perfect humid closet. We treat the harborage areas and recommend keeping the A/C running or a dehumidifier going when the place is empty.

Florida carpenter ants. They nest in damp voids — window frames, wall cavities, humid attics — and forage at night. We find the nest, treat it directly, and show you the moisture problem that invited them.

Wasps. Nests under eaves, in palms, on boats and around docks. We remove and treat them safely — call before you knock one down yourself.
