Pests We Treat in Pinecrest

Florida carpenter ants. Pinecrest's big trees drop the dead limbs carpenter ants start in; from there they move into wall voids, window frames and humid attics, foraging at night. They don't eat sound wood — that's a myth — but a colony in the wall is a colony in the wall. We find the nest, treat it directly, and show you the moisture that attracted them.

Roof rats. Avocado, mango and citrus on acre lots, plus branches that reach the roof, give roof rats food and a highway. Hollowed fruit with a quarter-sized hole is the first sign. We trap and remove, then seal entry points smaller than a fist, and flag the branches to cut back.

Big-headed ants and ghost ants. Big-headed ants pile sandy dirt along pavers, pool decks and slab edges; ghost ants trail across kitchen counters. Both get bait the colony carries home, plus a perimeter treatment.

Mosquitoes. Dense landscaping, bromeliads and pool-deck shade hold mosquitoes close to the house all year. Fogging and barrier treatments for yards, pool decks and patios; inspections are free.

American roaches. Palmetto bugs live in the leaf litter, mulch and hollow trees and come in after rain. We treat the perimeter, seal ground-level gaps, and recommend keeping mulch and leaves off the foundation.

Centipedes and millipedes. Deep leaf litter and irrigation keep the ground damp, which is centipede habitat; after heavy rain millipedes head indoors. An exterior barrier before and during rainy season, plus moisture control at the foundation, keeps both out.
