Homestead Pest Control

Millipedes. Homestead gets the worst of the post-rain millipede surges in South Dade. When the soil waterlogs they can't breathe in it, so they head for the nearest dry slab — your garage, lanai and ground-floor rooms. Wood mulch against the house is the number-one attractant. We apply an exterior barrier before and during rainy season.

Roof rats. Mango, avocado, citrus and papaya trees are a roof rat buffet — hollowed-out fruit with a quarter-sized hole is the giveaway — and from the branches it's a short trip to the attic. We trap and remove, then seal entry points smaller than a fist.

Mosquitoes. Canals, farm ditches and standing water after storms keep Homestead mosquitoes going nearly year-round; the county has run aerial spraying over Homestead, Florida City and the Redland in bad years. We do fogging and barrier treatments for yards, pools and patios, and inspections are free.

Ghost ants and big-headed ants. Ghost ants trail across kitchen counters; big-headed ants pile dirt along sidewalks and slab edges. Both get bait the colony carries home, plus a perimeter treatment.

Florida carpenter ants. They nest in damp voids and attics, and forage at night. We find the nest, treat it directly, and show you the moisture that attracted them.

American and German roaches. Palmetto bugs come in from outside after rain; German roaches are an indoor kitchen infestation that needs a follow-up visit. We treat both.
