Key Colony Beach Pest Control

Canal homes, oceanfront condos, rentals & restaurants
on the island next to Marathon

Key Colony Beach is its own small city on a dredged island off Marathon — canal-front homes on nearly every street, a line of condominium complexes facing the ocean along West Ocean Drive, a par-3 golf course, and a dockside restaurant row on the causeway. Most units are rentals or seasonal homes that sit closed part of the year, and the water is never more than a block away. That combination means silverfish and humidity pests indoors, mosquitoes, and roof rats along every seawall. Paradise Pest Solutions covers Key Colony Beach on our Middle Keys route. Free inspection, written price.

Pests We Treat in Key Colony Beach

Silverfish. Condos and rentals that sit closed up between guests or between seasons are exactly the humid, undisturbed space silverfish want. We treat closets, bathrooms and storage areas and recommend keeping the A/C or a dehumidifier running when the unit is empty.

Mosquitoes. Salt-marsh mosquitoes blow in off the water; Aedes breed in planters and pool-deck containers; no-see-ums come off the shoreline at dawn and dusk. Fogging and barrier treatments knock down what's resting in the landscaping, typically holding three to four weeks. Inspections are free.

Roof rats. Canal seawalls, dock lines and palm skirts give them cover and a route up. Noise at night and hollowed-out fruit are the signs. We trap and remove, then seal entry points smaller than a fist.

American and German roaches. Palmetto bugs come in from the landscaping and docks after rain. German roaches are an indoor kitchen infestation that travels unit to unit in a condo building and needs a follow-up visit. We treat both and document it.

Ghost ants. The tiny, nearly clear ants on the counter. Gel baits the colony carries home, plus a perimeter treatment.

Wasps. Nests under eaves, on balconies, on boats and around docks. We remove and treat them safely.

Key Colony Beach Pest Control FAQ

Do you service condo buildings and associations? Yes. We handle common areas and individual units, coordinate scheduling through the manager, and provide documentation for the board.
My unit sits empty for months — why do I come back to silverfish? A closed, humid unit with no air moving is silverfish habitat. Scheduled treatment while you're away plus keeping the A/C on a humidity setting helps reduce moisture.
How often should a Key Colony Beach property be treated? Rentals and condos usually go monthly in the wet season and bi-monthly the rest of the year. We'll recommend a schedule after the free inspection.
