Palmetto Bay Pest Control

Canal-front homes, estates, rentals & businesses

from Old Cutler Road to the bay

Palmetto Bay calls itself the Village of Parks, and that's the pest story too: big lots, old trees, canals running to Biscayne Bay, and the mangroves of the Deering Estate on the shoreline. The older Cutler and East Perrine neighborhoods were rebuilt after Andrew under canopy that's had thirty more years to grow. Roof rats, carpenter ants and mosquitoes all come from the landscaping here as much as the weather. Paradise Pest Solutions is a Key Largo company that runs a South Dade route through Palmetto Bay. We bring the same discreet, inspection-first approach we use for Keys waterfront homes, with a written price before any work starts.

Pests We Treat in Palmetto Bay

Roof rats. Mango, avocado and citrus in the yard, palms along the canal, and branches touching the roof — roof rats use all three. Hollowed-out fruit with a quarter-sized hole is the first sign; noise in the attic is the second. We trap and remove, then seal entry pints smaller than a fist, and we'll show you which branches to cut back.

Florida carpenter ants. Mature trees mean dead limbs and damp wood, and carpenter ants nest in both before moving into wall voids and humid attics. They forage at night, which is when you see them. We find the nest, treat it directly and point out the moisture source.

Mosquitoes. Canals, the bay and the Deering mangroves keep salt-marsh and container mosquitoes active most of the year; the county has run aerial spraying east of US-1 in bad summers. Fogging and barrier treatments for yards, docks, pool decks and patios; inspections are free.

Ghost ants. The tiny, nearly clear ants on the kitchen counter. Gel baits the colony carries home, plus a perimeter treatment to stop re-entry — never a spray, which splits the colony.

American roaches. Palmetto bugs live in the landscaping and the drainage system and come in after rain through ground-level gaps. We treat the perimeter, seal the gaps, and recommend clearing leaf litter from the foundation.

Millipedes and centipedes. When the soil waterlogs they move indoors through garages and sliders. An exterior barrier before and during rainy season, and wood mulch pulled back from the slab, keeps them out.
